The Ministry of Health and Population’s official page recently shared an infographic presenting the achievements of the President’s initiative for women’s health. 48,847,421 visits were recorded where women received a range of screening and awareness services, including but not limited to, breast cancer screenings, reproductive health check-ups, and mental health consultations.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry, explained that the total number of visits was divided into 21,677,562 first-time visits, 16,170,724 periodic visits, and 10,999,135 occasional visits.
The official spokesman stressed the importance of women periodically checking their health condition through the services provided by the Sustainable Initiative. Early diagnosis and detection of breast tumors, he emphasized, significantly reduce the burden on the patient and the state.
This is achieved by responding effectively to treatment protocols provided by the initiative free of charge, in strict adherence to the latest international standards, which include [specific international standards or guidelines].
Abdul Ghaffar detailed that 628,265 women visited hospitals to undergo advanced examinations within the initiative, highlighting the initiative’s commitment to accessibility. He emphasized the extensive reach of the initiative, which provides free services to examine women through 3,663 health units across the governorates of the Republic.
Additionally, 102 hospitals participate in the initiative, providing medical service to women whose condition requires conducting an advanced examination. Inquiries are received through the “100 Million Health” initiative hotline at 15335, ensuring that no woman is left without the necessary healthcare.
Abdul Ghaffar added that the initiative follows the latest international protocols for treating breast cancer through 14 centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Population and activates those protocols in 14 centers affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, which are significant because [reason for their significance, such as their role in advanced research or their strategic location].
These centers are being prepared for applied research to reach the centers for advanced research in oncology treatment, within the vision of the political leadership to pay attention to the public health of citizens.
Dr. Hatem Amin, Executive Director of the initiative, pointed out that 26,751 cases of breast cancer have been discovered, and 357,744 mammograms have been performed since the launch of the initiative. The initiative has also withdrawn 38,930 tumor samples for analysis and provided free treatment for cases afflicted with cancer. Additionally, 39,588 women underwent withdrawal and pathological analysis, and 26,751 women were confirmed to be infected, with follow-up treatment for 111,243 cases.
Amin said that treating infected women, whether subject to health insurance or the treatment system at state expense, is being followed up.
The initiative also provides comprehensive training services to medical teams, including doctors, nurses, and radiology technicians. These training services cover [specific areas or topics of training], in an effort to raise the efficiency of service providers and ensure the highest quality of care.
