CAPMAS: Inflation Rate Jumped by 1.8% in April

The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) declared on Wednesday, May 10, that the inflation rate increased by 1.8% in April, recording 169.6 points more than last March.

According to CAPMAS’s statement, the rise in the inflation rate in April is due to the increase of the index of purchases of food and beverages by 2.3%.

The statement further demonstrated that the annual inflation rate increased by 31.5%, compared to 14.9% for the same month in 2022.
