Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, is pleased that Sharm El-Sheikh won the title of world’s safest tourist destination and praised Governor Khaled Fouda for being named “Man of the Year” and receiving the AFASU Golden Award for leading tourism city development.
The PM praised the efforts of state agencies and the Governorate of South Sinai in developing Sharm El-Sheikh into a smart green city, a significant milestone in enhancing its status as a top destination for Egyptian tourism and international conferences.
Several sustainable infrastructure and service projects have been completed, along with measures to preserve biodiversity.
The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation towards the individuals who have worked diligently and tirelessly to develop the tourist destination. He emphasized that this international award recognizes the collective efforts of individuals from all sectors of the state, who have contributed to the success of the project.
He further highlighted that the achievements made here have set a precedent for future development in other Egyptian cities.
The spokesperson for the Egyptian Cabinet, Mohamed Al-Homsani, has shared that the city of Sharm El-Sheikh has implemented several critical standards.
These standards are focused on promoting sustainability, enhancing transportation networks, and improving social impact. Additionally, they aim to establish a strong foundation for sustainable development in the domains of administrative development, government administration, and tourism security.
