Voting for the Senate runoff elections in Egypt kicks off abroad on Monday, August 25, 2025, continuing through Tuesday, August 26. Ten candidates across five governorates outside Egypt will compete in this phase.
The electoral campaign for these candidates ends on Sunday, August 24, at noon local time. Following this, a mandatory election silence period will begin.
The runoff voting inside Egypt is scheduled for August 27 and 28. Final results from both domestic and overseas voting rounds are expected to be officially announced and published in the government gazette on September 4, 2025.
The National Elections Authority, chaired by Judge Hazem Badawy, has confirmed that candidates can file appeals against preliminary results within 48 hours after results are declared, with the Administrative Court set to rule on appeals within ten days (August 15-24).
Additionally, note that the general committee’s polling location in Gharbia governorate has been changed for the runoff elections.
