According to ahram online, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi sent a cable of greetings to the United Arab Emirates’ Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan on the occasion of the Gulf country’s national day.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has also dispatched Presidential Secretary Mohamed Yehia to the UAE embassy in Cairo to extend greetings.
The UAE’s National Day falls on 2 December in honour of the unification of six of its seven emirates in 1968.
Egypt and the UAE have recently celebrated 50 years of bilateral relations under the slogan “Egypt and the UAE: One Heart.”
The volume of non-oil trade between Egypt and the UAE hit more than $3.2 billion between January and May 2022, up from $2.9 billion during the same period in 2021, according to the UAE’s Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.
The UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs also stated that “the UAE is Egypt’s second largest Arab trading partner, while Egypt is the UAE’s fifth largest Arab trading partner in intra-non-oil trade, accounting for 7% of total non-oil trade with Arab countries.”
