February 18th, 2024, Cairo: Egypt’s President, H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, will inaugurate tomorrow, Monday, the 7th edition of Egypt Energy Show (EGYPS 2024), taking place during the period from February 19th to 21st, under the theme “Driving Energy Transition, Security, and Decarbonization”.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Tarek El Molla underscored the importance that this year’s edition will be held under the auspices of President Al Sisi and will witness his esteemed presence, as it represents a source of honor and sends a positive message to the global investors about the country’s support for catalyzing investments in the Egyptian energy sector. He pointed out that this year, the conference takes on a brand-new focus, transforming from a petroleum show into an all-inclusive energy platform tackling all the challenges and solutions regarding energy transition and carbon footprint reduction in energy production and utilization.
El Molla added that the conference will highlight the necessity of balancing the cleaner and more sustainable energy transition and the more responsible and eco-friendly energy security for driving economic growth and fulfilling people’s energy demands. Hence, the oil and gas sector brings off this goal by committing to deploying emission reduction technologies in parallel with renewable energy developments, mainly green hydrogen.
El Molla also stated that the new edition of EGYPES will witness significant international participation and a ministerial presence. The 7th edition will also bring together C-Suite energy, attending on behalf of their countries, secretaries of regional and international energy organizations, and chief executives of global energy companies.
During the first two days of EGYPS 2024, the strategic conference will commence, bringing together a great line-up of speakers, including energy ministers, industry leaders, and CEOs of primary global energy, petroleum, and gas companies. EGYPES will also witness the inaugural edition of the Climatech Challenge, a global platform for startups to showcase their technological solutions for reducing carbon emissions. They will present their solutions to an esteemed judging committee comprising energy leaders, officials, and industry experts.
Moreover, the conference will host the African Dialogue Conference, bringing together prominent stakeholders in the African energy sector. They will discuss pressing challenges related to policies, legislation, and infrastructure development for natural gas. Additionally, the event will explore how Africa can leverage its rich energy resources to drive the continent towards a more prosperous and sustainable energy future.
EGYPS 2024 continues to embrace themes of equality in the energy sector, financing, and investment, featuring its annual technical conference, aiming to bring together the expertise of technical professionals from various countries. Additionally, a program for young professionals in the energy industry is planned.
The conference dedicates its annual awards to recognizing the best initiatives in energy sector sustainability and awards for equality in the energy sector to honor the most influential contributors in this field.
EGYPES anticipates around 35,000 attendees from 120 countries, including about 2,200 delegates and representatives of over 40 Egyptian and international energy, petroleum, gas, and energy technology companies. The event features 80 discussion sessions, hosting over 300 speakers.
