Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli commended the cooperation between Egypt and the UN to achieve sustainable development, Madbouli’s remarks came during his participation in the signing ceremony of the 2023-2027 strategic partnership framework on sustainable development.
The premier said that Egypt has made significant progress in addressing development challenges, in partnership with the UN, noting that the State succeeded in reducing poverty, supporting social protection programs to provide a decent life for citizens, and countering terrorism, illegal migration, and human trafficking, in addition to its contribution to enhancing international peace and security, according to the “Egypt Today” website.
He stated that Egypt introduced economic reforms and shored up its social protection measures, through expanding the “Takaful and Karama” cash transfer program, increasing wages and pensions, and subsidizing basic goods and services.
