Oman Named Guest of Honor for 56th Cairo Int’l Book Fair: Egypt’s Culture Minister

Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Nevin Al Kilani, announced selecting Sultanate of Oman as the guest of honor for the upcoming edition of Cairo International Book Fair 2025. The announcement took place during the ceremony, attended by H.E. Hilde Klemetsdal, Ambassador of Norway to Cairo. Held under the esteemed patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and inaugurated by Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the fair brought together 1200 Egyptian, Arab, and foreign publishers, with over 5000 exhibitors from 70 countries worldwide.

Dr. Nevin officially handed over the role of Guest of Honor for the upcoming edition to Khalifa Bin Rashid Al Shamsi, Plenipotentiary Minister and Deputy Head of the Mission of Oman in Cairo.

Dr. Nevin expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming edition, noting that selecting Oman as the guest of honor will not only strengthen bilateral cooperation but also foster cultural exchange. She extended her gratitude to the Kingdom of Norway, the current edition’s guest of honor, for its remarkable participation. She acknowledged their remarkable cultural and artistic contributions that greatly contributed to the success of this year’s fair.
