Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shousha, Governor of North Sinai, stressed that Egyptian women are an essential partner in the development and construction of Egypt in line with the new republic, the foundations of which were established by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The governor received members of the National Council for Women in North Sinai, including Ihsan Dawoud Ghaly, rapporteur of the National Council branch in the governorate; Siham Ezz El-Din, member of the General Secretariat and rapporteur of the Governorates Committee of the National Council for Women; Dalia Hamdy and Mahmoud Badawi, members of the General Secretariat of the Council.
He affirmed during the meeting that Egyptian women are role models of giving and sacrificing for their family and their homeland, Egypt.
The governor added that Sinai women played a major role in political and social life in North Sinai, and had a prominent national role in various eras, especially in the modern era, pointing to the allocation of a plot of land in Al-Arish in coordination with the Engineering Department of the Al-Arish City Council to build a new headquarters for the council’s branch. For her part, Siham Ezz El-Din, a member of the General Secretariat of the NCW, confirmed that Egyptian women in the various Egyptian governorates have proven themselves helpful in shaping the past, present, and future of Egypt, pointing out that they are living their most prosperous times after achieving many gains thanks to the president’s directives.
Ihsan Dawoud Ghali, rapporteur of the North Sinai National Council branch, pointed out the North Sinai governor’s support for Sinai women, empowering them and offering them equal opportunities to occupy more leadership positions in the governorate.
Ghali further pointed out the participation of the National Council with several forces to combat violence against women in its various forms and launch the umbrella of protecting women and empowering them politically, socially, and economically, calling for the allocation of a workshop to train women to be located in the Abu Saql neighborhood or the Karama neighborhood.
