As Egypt prepares to celebrate the Eid al-Adha holiday, the formation of a new government is on the horizon. According to government sources, the new cabinet will be sworn in after  the Eid al-Adha holiday. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently announced a six-day break for public employees, starting from Saturday, June 15, until Thursday, June 20, to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi accepted the resignation of Mostafa Madbouly’s government last week and reappointed him as the prime minister to form a new cabinet. The outgoing government has been tasked with continuing their duties until the new government is formed. This cabinet reshuffle marks the fourth under Prime Minister Madbouly, who has been in office since June 2018.

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, who was re-elected for a third term in December 2023, began his new term in April. With the acceptance of Prime Minister Madbouly’s government resignation, the process of forming a new cabinet is underway. The decision to swear in the new government after the Eid al-Adha holiday aligns with the significant importance of this religious occasion and allows for a smooth transition.

The upcoming cabinet reshuffle signifies the government’s commitment to addressing the evolving needs and challenges faced by Egypt. As Prime Minister Madbouly continues to lead the formation of the new cabinet, expectations are high regarding the selection of competent ministers who can effectively contribute to Egypt’s development and prosperity.
