The National Council for Women, headed by Dr. Maya Morsi, extended its sincere congratulations to NCW member Dr. Rania Yahya for assuming the position of Dean of the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts.
In her speech, Morsi expressed her great pride and joy about choosing Dr. Rania Yahya for this high-level position; and she stressed that Yehia deserved the appointment for her multiple cultural and artistic contributions and for her honorable representation of Egypt in many international forums.
She added that the NCW member’s important artistic and musical writings make her an inspiring role model for Egyptian women and wished her further success in her bright future.
It is worth noting that Dr. Rania Yehia is a member of the National Council for Women and a rapporteur of the Arts and Literature Committee. She also holds a fellowship from the National Defense College at Nasser Higher Military Academy and has been a flutist with the Cairo Opera Orchestra since 1995 until now.
Moreover, Yehia is a member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Association of Film Writers and Critics, The Supreme Council of Culture, and the Youth Committee.
The talented flutist recently won the State Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2023. She additionally received the title of Ideal Mother from the Egyptian Opera House for 2023.
Yehia was also honored by the fifteenth International “Babylon” Festival, in Iraq, in the presence of the Iraqi Minister of Culture and a group of Iraqi diplomats and public affairs.
