In a bid to engage young Egyptians in shaping future policies, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning,, held an open dialogue session with youth from various governorates. The discussion focused on developmental issues and the role of youth in realizing Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The meeting featured discussions on key topics, including the role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals and Vision 2030, integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into economic plans, and enhancing youth participation in national projects. The session also provided a platform for young participants to voice concerns and ask questions regarding small project financing policies, empowerment initiatives, and various other issues.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhy emphasized that the Egyptian government views youth not only as beneficiaries of development plans but also as active partners in shaping and implementing these policies. He reiterated that youth empowerment is central to Egypt’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes their involvement across political, economic, and social sectors.
“This meeting is not just about listening to the youth, but about answering their questions transparently, whether it’s about employment, training, or supporting entrepreneurial ventures. These areas remain top priorities for the Ministry, which continues to develop innovative programs to support and empower Egypt’s youth,” Dr. Sobhy said.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat highlighted that investing in youth is an investment in the nation’s human capital, which is essential for achieving sustainable economic growth. She emphasized that supporting youth ideas and fostering entrepreneurship are key components of Egypt’s development policies.
The Ministry of Planning, under Dr. Al-Mashat’s leadership, continues to work closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure that development plans align with the needs of young Egyptians. This collaboration includes specialized training programs, supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and fostering international partnerships that create new opportunities for youth.
The session saw active participation from young Egyptians, who raised questions about unemployment challenges, inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market, and how the ministries are addressing global economic changes. Both ministers provided detailed responses, reinforcing the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
This meeting is part of a series of youth dialogues organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with various state institutions, aiming to foster effective youth participation in decision-making processes and contribute to shaping the future in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
