According to the latest updates yesterday, the humanitarian pause is expected to last for an additional two days as the first four-day ceasefire in Gaza approaches its expiration date.
Majed Al Ansari, a spokesman for the Qatari foreign ministry, stated on X that the State of Qatar announced that, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement was reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip.
The United States, Qatar, and all of Egypt have been actively involved in negotiations to establish and extend the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Around 50 hostages were set free as a result of the truce; 17 of them were Thai, 1 was Filipino, and 1 was dual Russian-Israeli.
Moreover, 150 Palestinian hostages were freed in exchange, in addition to granting Gaza access to more humanitarian aid.
