Green Initiatives and Women’s Empowerment
Engy Al-Yamani, the national director of the financial inclusion and green projects program, emphasized Egypt’s dedication to climate action, citing the COP27 summit and initiatives such as the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects. These initiatives aim to integrate women into the green economy. On the other hand, Ahmed Adel, an expert in developing financial inclusion initiatives, explained how financial inclusion supports the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. By providing accessible financial services, these initiatives empower individuals and businesses, particularly in rural areas where women often face financial barriers.
Empowering Rural Women
Samira Rushwan, a sustainable development and public policy expert, highlighted the importance of empowering women in rural and marginalized communities. She emphasized the need to provide women with education and resources to enable them to participate fully in sustainable development efforts.
Partnerships for Impact
Mustafa Zamzam, the chairman of the board of trustees of the “Sonaa E Keir” Foundation, stressed the importance of partnerships between the government and NGOs to empower women and promote sustainable development. He highlighted the success of initiatives that train women in traditional crafts and provide them with economic opportunities.
