The campaign of the presidential candidate, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, began its first foreign tour with a visit to the National Council for Women. Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, head of the electoral campaign for the presidential candidate, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, met with Dr. Maya Morsi, Head of the National Council for Women, in the presence of male and female members of the Council and rapporteurs of the Council’s branches in the governorates, at the headquarters of the National Council for Women.
The President of the Council welcomed the campaign of candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and noted that the visit reflects the candidate’s interest in placing Egyptian women in line with the vision of his electoral sovereignty and that the Council stands at the same distance from all candidates, stressing that women are living their golden age in empowerment as they have achieved many gains at all levels.
She further praised the national project for the development of the Egyptian family in villages for a decent life and that the NCW is interested in raising awareness, especially about the constitutional entitlements stipulated in the Constitution and the law, besides its main focus on the economic empowerment of women through various initiatives.
Notably, the Council seeks the participation of women and their families in the electoral process as an inherent right and a national and moral duty because they will reap the benefits of these entitlements, and their participation serves as confirmation that we are a well-established, safe, and stable country, noting that women’s voting rates are always the highest in the governorates, due to their belief in their role in the state.
Morsi pointed out that the Council launched the “Balady Amana” campaign, which has reached millions of women, and it aims to raise awareness of not being led by rumors and the importance of positive participation in constitutional entitlements. The campaign also included holding seminars and providing legal awareness.
For his part, Counselor Mahmoud Fawzi, head of the electoral campaign, appreciated the role of the National Council for Women in ensuring women’s awareness of exercising their rights, especially civil and political, and empowering women in all governorates, praising women’s effective role in society and that they have set the most wonderful examples in participating in every entitlement and election, noting that the file of women’s empowerment witnessed an unprecedented boom during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi who believes that empowering women is a national duty.
At the end of the meeting, the council and the electoral campaign exchanged visions and discussion ideas among the attendees about the economic challenges that the country is going through and how to overcome them, and the vision of the presidential candidate in all fields, whether economic, social, or political. After that, both parties paused for a souvenir group photo to commemorate the event.
