Egypt’s Minister of Local Development, Dr. Manal Awad, closely monitored the ongoing 2025 Senate elections across the country today through the Unified Control Center of the National Emergency and Public Safety Network, located at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Following her own vote at the Madinaty Language School polling station, Dr. Awad held a series of video conference calls with several provincial governors to ensure that all polling stations opened on time and that the voting process was proceeding smoothly and efficiently.
Emphasis on Efficiency and Dignity
During the virtual meetings, the governors reported that the electoral process was running steadily in their respective governorates, with a noticeable turnout from all demographic groups — youth, women, and senior citizens alike.
Dr. Awad emphasized the importance of removing any obstacles that might hinder voters or electoral workers, stating that ensuring a seamless process is crucial for presenting Egypt’s governorates in a civilized and dignified manner. She also stressed the need to provide all necessary facilities, particularly for elderly citizens and persons with disabilities, to allow them to vote without difficulty.
Continuous Monitoring from the Emergency Network Hub
The Minister underscored the importance of ongoing coordination and real-time oversight throughout the day via the national emergency control system. She urged governors to remain vigilant and responsive until the conclusion of the first day of voting, highlighting the critical role of continuous communication between the Ministry’s central operations center and local emergency hubs in every governorate.
This coordination is intended to quickly resolve any unforeseen issues and ensure the electoral process remains transparent, secure, and accessible to all.
