In a sweeping effort to enhance public health services across the nation, Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population has announced the delivery of more than 32.57 million free medical services as part of the third edition of the national “100 Days of Health” campaign, launched on July 15, 2025.

The initiative is carried out under the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, as part of Egypt’s ongoing strategy to improve healthcare access and achieve universal health coverage.

National Campaign Across 12 Health Sectors

According to Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesperson for the Ministry, the campaign provided 1.82 million services in a single day earlier this week, reflecting the broad reach and efficiency of the nationwide operation. The campaign draws on 12 key health sectors, with each contributing to a comprehensive, integrated model of care.

The  services includes:

  • 686,167 services via the Primary Healthcare Sector
  • 425,630 services through the Curative Care Sector
  • 128,978 services under the Presidential Public Health Initiatives
  • 61,497 services from the Preventive Medicine Sector
  • 222,087 services from Health Insurance Organization Hospitals
  • 50,217 services via Hospitals and Educational Institutes
  • 10,803 services from the Mental Health Initiative “Your Health is Happiness”
  • 104,512 services delivered by Specialized Medical Centers
  • 12,825 services from Therapeutic Institutions Hospitals
  • 11,282 treatment decisions issued by the Specialized Medical Councils
  • 2,618 surgeries completed for patients on waiting lists
  • 5,680 emergency cases managed by the Egyptian Ambulance Authority

Empowering Communities with Health Education

In parallel with clinical services, the campaign also emphasized community outreach and health education, reaching over 99,753 citizens through public events in malls, clubs, and community spaces. These efforts, led by mobile awareness teams, aim to improve preventive health behaviors and guide citizens on how to access the services offered.

Dr. Abdel Ghaffar emphasized that the campaign reflects a holistic approach to healthcare—offering curative, preventive, and awareness services while integrating public, specialized, and emergency care systems under a unified national framework.

A National Vision for Sustainable Health

The “100 Days of Health” campaign is a flagship initiative of Egypt’s public health transformation, which aligns with broader national goals for human development, prevention-first medicine, and equitable healthcare access.

Launched initially in 2023, the campaign’s third round demonstrates scaling capacity, increased public engagement, and multi-sectoral collaboration—making it a key pillar in Egypt’s roadmap toward sustainable healthcare reform.
