Egyptian Volleyball Federation Lauds National Clubs’ Dominance in 2025 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship

Eng. Yasser Qamar, President of the Egyptian Volleyball Federation and Vice-President of the Arab Volleyball Federation, has commended the exceptional performance of Al Ahly and Zamalek’s women’s teams in the African Clubs Championship, held from April 1st to 14th.

Qamar emphasized that the qualification of both Egyptian clubs for the championship final underscores the continued supremacy of Egyptian volleyball on the continental stage. He further highlighted the consistent high-caliber performance of Egyptian national teams across all age groups, both men’s and women’s, citing their repeated achievements in securing continental titles and their distinguished representation in global competitions, including qualification for the recent Paris Olympics.

He urged the Al Ahly and Zamalek players to maintain their strong performance and represent Egypt with distinction in the final match, while upholding the spirit of sportsmanship and adhering to ethical conduct, thereby preserving the exemplary image and remarkable standard exhibited by both teams throughout the tournament.

Both Al Ahly and Zamalek secured their spots in the final after demonstrating formidable prowess and consistent excellence from the outset of the championship.

Match Details:

  • Zamalek’s women’s team advanced to the African Championship final by defeating Kenyan Pipelines 3-2.
  • Al Ahly’s women’s team qualified for the final after a 3-0 victory over Tunisian side Carthage in the semi-final.
  • The final match between Zamalek and Al Ahly was held on Sunday, at 5:00 PM Cairo time.
