Minister of State for Migration Affairs Soha Gendi affirmed that several Egyptian ministries and bodies are working on the axes and sessions of the fourth edition of the country’s expatriates conference set to kick off tomorrow, July 31.
Gendi mentioned in a statement that the political leadership is interested in engaging Egyptian expatriates in achieving sustainable development in the country.
Attended by over 1,000 Egyptian nationals living in 56 countries, the conference sessions will focus on education and setting up an online portal for Egyptian expatriates, including the Egyptian curriculum, ways of linking Egyptian scientists living abroad and young researchers at home and merging technological tools in the curriculum.
The conference will further discuss the role of Egyptian embassies and consulates in serving Egyptian expatriates, conscription settlement, the performance of the Egyptian economy, the State’s banking and monetary policies, initiative to exempt imported cars from customs, available investment opportunities and setting up a shareholding company for Egyptian expats’ investments. Moreover, the conference will tackle preparations for coming elections and expatriates’ role in this regard, political life in Egypt, and youths’ representation in parties, parliament, and executive apparatus of the State.
