The technical office of the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival (AIWFF) is about to finalize the details of most of the film programs for its eighth session, which will be held from April 20 to 25.
The Aswan International Women’s Film Festival is held with the support of the Ministries of Culture, Tourism, and Social Solidarity, and sponsored by the National Council for Women, the Aswan Governorate, and the Syndicate of Cinema Professions.
The artistic office is headed by programmer Safaa Murad; she has experience in the field of film programming at many film festivals as she graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Greek and Latin Studies, then obtained a Master’s in Translation in the English Language and a Diploma in Art Criticism.
Moreover, Murad passed many film criticism workshops and wrote some critical articles. She also directed several short films, founded the Youth Film Support Unit, and participated in establishing the Vision Forum for Youth Films at the National Film Center.
Other members include critic Amal Magdy and critic Rola Adel. Work began to prepare for the 8th session four months ago, during which a large number of long and short films representing all continents of the world were watched.
