Al-Mashat Meets President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises

The Minister of International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, held a meeting with Saida Neghza, President of the General Confederation of Algerian Enterprises (CGEA).

The CGEA is a self-governing Algerian body that represents business owners and boasts over 1,200 representatives from different economic sectors. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Ministry of International Cooperation’s efforts to enhance economic relationships with multilateral and bilateral development partners.

The Minister welcomed the CGEA President, emphasizing on the importance of Egyptian-Algerian relations. The government is committed to strengthening ties and diversifying relations in different fields to achieve mutual interests.

During the meeting, they explored potential avenues for strengthening cooperation between the two nations. The Minister highlighted Egypt’s endeavors to create a favorable investment climate and improve the working atmosphere for investors, aimed at supporting development initiatives and bolstering promising opportunities for collaboration between the private sectors of Egypt and Algeria.

The Minister of International Cooperation has acknowledged the progress in economic relations between Egypt and Algeria, thanks to the support of their respective leaders. The 8th session of the Egyptian-Algerian Joint Higher Committee and the Egyptian-Algerian Economic Forum were successful. The Minister looks forward to more opportunities for cooperation in the next committee session.

According to Al-Mashat, the establishment of the business council, comprising the private sectors of both nations, will fortify cooperation frameworks and facilitate collaborative efforts, with the meaningful contribution of private sector enterprises from Egypt and Algeria. This, in turn, will bolster development endeavors, thereby underscoring the significance of this initiative.
