Under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi, the eighth edition of the Zayed Charity Run was inaugurated by Egypt’s Youth Minister, Ashraf Sobhy. In this edition, 31,000 runners took to the streets in the New Administrative Capital, joining the eighth edition of the Zayed Charity Run. The marathon received participants of all ages and abilities to compete for the EGP10mln prize. This inclusivity extended beyond the podium, with 3,884 runners with disabilities taking on the challenge.
Further, a special draw offered 100 Umrah trips for two, adding a touch of spiritual grace to the day’s bounty. The event’s namesake is Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s founding father.
UAE Amb. to Egypt, Mariam Al-Kaabi referred to the firm bilateral relations and that the marathon is highly acclaimed. Minister Sobhy echoed this sentiment, commending the diverse participation – “youth, people of all ages, and people with disabilities”.
Zayed Charity Run promised support for Misr El-Kheir Foundation, Al-Nas Hospital, and other healthcare institutions. The ripple effects of this day of unity will extend far beyond the finish line.
