Youth Minister Ashraf Sobhi Discusses Strengthening Youth Cooperation with Netherlands

Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, held a meeting with an official delegation from the Netherlands to explore ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on Egypt’s national youth strategy.

The discussions revolved around supporting education, creating job opportunities for youth, and increasing their participation in social and economic development. Minister Sobhi emphasized Egypt’s dedication to empowering youth, noting that the Egyptian government places significant importance on enabling young people to play a crucial role in shaping the nation’s future.

Egypt’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment
Sobhi highlighted the central role of youth empowerment in Egypt’s development plans, underscoring the government’s integrated national strategies designed to leverage scientific, economic, and innovative potential to support young people. He also expressed the ministry’s eagerness to pursue international partnerships to exchange expertise and improve youth programs, particularly in the sports sector.

“We aim to build strong relationships with countries like the Netherlands to help foster youth development,” Sobhi remarked. “Our goal is to create more opportunities for youth through collaboration in education, employment, and sports.”

Building Stronger Bilateral Ties
Jurriaan Middelhoff, the Dutch Ambassador for Youth, Education, and Work, commended the strong bilateral relationship between Egypt and the Netherlands. He emphasized that cooperation in sports and education is a key pillar of sustainable development and youth empowerment. The Dutch ambassador also mentioned that the two sides discussed various joint projects currently underway to further enhance cooperation.

Support for Expanding Cooperation
The meeting, attended by Dutch Ambassador to Egypt Peter Mollema, reinforced the mutual desire to expand bilateral cooperation in these crucial areas. The two sides agreed to explore new opportunities to collaborate and build on existing initiatives aimed at supporting the growth and empowerment of youth in both countries.
