Yasmine Fouad Advocates Transition to Green Economy

Egypt’s Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, underlined the urgency to enforce new incentives and legislation to accelerate the transition to green economy, voicing her appreciation for including the climate change file on the agenda of the World Government Summit (WGS).

Addressing the summit, she indicated that the UN Climate Conference, which took place in Sharm El Sheikh in November, came up with 30 recommendations to counter climate change.

Fouad demanded moving forward with work and coordination among various countries to mitigate the impact of climate change and pressed the need for using all potentials and technologies to secure a quick transition to green economy and providing the necessary funding for this step.
