A recent round of promotions inside Egypt’s state media institution, Maspero, has brought a notable pattern into focus: women are increasingly occupying senior on-air and administrative leadership roles.
Among the women highlighted in the latest appointments are Awatef Aboul Seoud, named Deputy Head of Channel Two; Amal Roshdy, appointed Deputy Head of Nile News; Diaa Samir, now Head of the Satellite Channel; Dina Othman, Head of Nile TV; and Manal El Daftar, Head of Channel One.
Taken together, the appointments suggest more than a routine administrative reshuffle. They point to the continued presence of women in senior editorial, programming, and institutional roles inside a media structure
