WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature designed to help users better organize their conversations: custom categories known as Lists. If you often find yourself searching for specific chats, this new functionality allows you to create and label lists dedicated to particular groups or contacts, such as family or work colleagues.
Once created, these lists will appear at the top of your inbox alongside existing filters like “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups,” making it easier to access your most important conversations quickly. To set up a list, simply tap the “+” icon in the filter bar at the top of your chats tab. You can name your list and select which conversations to include, whether they’re group chats or one-on-one messages. For users with multiple lists, a horizontal scroll feature will allow easy navigation through all your categories.
The Lists feature is beginning to roll out today, and many users on the Android version of the app have already noticed it. If you don’t see it yet, don’t worry—WhatsApp has announced that the feature will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. This update promises to enhance user experience by streamlining chat organization and accessibility.
