As part of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s “A New Beginning for Human Development” initiative, the University of Al-Arish hosted an exhibition showcasing products from Sinai’s women and young entrepreneurs. The event was organized by the National Council for Women in North Sinai, under the leadership of Ihsan Dawood, the Council’s Chairperson in the governorate.
Among the showcased items were traditional Bedouin-embroidered clothing, leather crafts, and other cultural handicrafts that celebrate Sinai’s distinctive history and culture.
In his opening remarks, Dr. El-Demerdash emphasized the importance of the exhibition in economically empowering Sinai women. He highlighted how such events help integrate women into the workforce by promoting and marketing their products. He said, “The University of Al-Arish welcomes every innovative product created with love and dedication to Sinai. The university will always remain a center of expertise and support for the people of Sinai.”
Dr. El-Demerdash also praised the active role of Sinai women in their communities, noting that the exhibition demonstrates their ability to innovate and excel. He reaffirmed the university’s ongoing support for initiatives that contribute to human and economic development across Sinai.
For her part, Ihsan Dawood expressed her appreciation for the University of Al-Arish’s efforts in supporting Sinai women. She commended the fruitful collaboration, which reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development in Sinai. “The exhibition is a real platform for empowering women economically and showcasing their creative talents.
At the end of the exhibition, Dr. El-Demerdash thanked the National Council for Women and all those involved in organizing the event.
