16 university students at the Faculty of Mass Communications, Cairo University launched Forsa Tania (second chance) initiative. Presented as their graduation project under the slogan: “One second matters a lifetime.”, the initiative is designed to help non-medical professionals assist in case of emergency, including CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. The participants will also receive practical training.  The initiative raises awareness about the importance of learning first-aid skills in saving lives and eliminates any misconceptions people may have regarding first-aid. Further, an in-person session is held about various first-aid techniques at the El-Nile Sporting Club.

Under this initiative, the students distributed brochures and videos presenting advice offered by the Egyptian Ambulance Authority. They also share easy-to-understand information on social media platforms.

The initiative has recently received sponsorships from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Health, and the Egyptian Ambulance Authority.

“We plan to continue working to educate the public more about first-aid, collaborate more with the official authorities to bring more events where people can learn and practice first aid and offer a variety of different content on our platforms,” a member stated.
