Under the auspices of Egypt’s Ministries of Labor and Communications and Information Technology, and with the participation of more than 100 local and regional companies, Minister of Labor Mohamed Gebran took part in the Sixth Huawei Employment Fair (HiRE 6) held in Cairo under the slogan “Your Gateway to the Industry of Tomorrow.”

The high-profile event, organized by Huawei Egypt, served as a vital platform to connect young Egyptian talent with top employers in the technology and communications sectors, reflecting the government’s strategic vision to invest in human capital and empower youth for the digital economy.

Egypt’s Human Capital at the Heart of National Development

In his opening remarks, Minister Mohamed Gebran emphasized that the forum reflects a successful model of cooperation between the government and the private sector to support young professionals and equip them with the skills needed for Egypt’s digital transformation.

“Under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian state places investment in its people—especially its youth—at the forefront of national priorities,” Gebran said. “Our partnership with Huawei represents a cornerstone in our mission to build digital capabilities and create high-value job opportunities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.”

The Minister highlighted that the Ministry of Labor is expanding its training and upskilling programs through collaboration with leading global partners like Huawei, preparing a new generation capable of navigating the rapidly evolving global tech landscape.

Huawei: Building Egypt’s Digital Workforce

Mr. Du Yong, Senior Vice President of Huawei Egypt, reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Egypt’s youth and its alignment with Egypt Vision 2030.

Asmaa Serag, Executive Director of Huawei Academies Egypt, added that this year’s forum adopts a hybrid model, allowing companies to showcase opportunities through an open online platform for an entire month. “This approach expands access and visibility, helping more graduates secure jobs in leading technology firms,” she noted.

Strategic Partnership with the National Telecommunications Institute (NTI)

Dr. Ahmed Khattab, Director of the National Telecommunications Institute, praised the collaboration with Huawei as a “strategic partnership that invests in people and builds competitive, innovation-driven talent.”

He noted that this partnership—spanning over two decades—has trained more than 60,000 young men and women across 160 Huawei academies nationwide, supported by 1,700 internationally certified trainers.

In 2024, the cooperation expanded through the launch of the Egyptian Talent Academy (ETA), targeting 15,000 trainees in advanced technology fields, alongside specialized programs in fiber optics to support national infrastructure and the Decent Life (Hayah Kareema) initiative.

Celebrating Excellence in Youth Empowerment

During the event, seven companies were honored for their outstanding contributions to youth employment and skills development. Trainers and professors from the NTI were also recognized for their role in advancing digital education and technical excellence.

The forum also featured a dedicated session titled “Women in Tech”, highlighting the role of Egyptian women in the technology sector. Speakers included Dr. Iman Sarrag Eldin, Director of ETA and Head of the AI Ambassadors Program, Dr. Lamia El-Fadaly, Huawei-certified trainer and faculty member at MSA University, and Engineer Nadine Abdullah, Huawei HCIP member.

A Platform for the Future: Bridging Skills with Opportunity

The Huawei HiRE 6 Employment Forum serves as a dynamic hub connecting graduates certified by Huawei Academies and the Egyptian Talent Academy with leading employers in critical technology sectors such as 5G, AI, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Big Data, and DataCom Networks.

Through partnerships with educational institutions, Huawei continues to offer foundational training in modern technologies, supporting Egypt’s ambition to become a regional hub for digital talent and innovation.
