The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports has successfully wrapped up the Ced Sportival Festival, a landmark event blending sport and tourism, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. Held in the coastal city of New Alamein, the two-day festival highlighted Egypt’s growing strategy to position sport tourism as a pillar of national development and global branding.

Organized by Presentation Live, in collaboration with the Ministry and hosted by City Edge Developments, the festival transformed the city’s beaches into a dynamic hub of competition, celebration, and innovation—drawing hundreds of athletes, spectators, and public figures.

A Vision for Sport-Driven Tourism

Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, praised the festival as a model for the country’s broader vision.

The festival forms part of the Ministry’s sport tourism and event strategy, designed to attract both domestic and international attention through world-class events that merge culture, wellness, and tourism.

Showcasing Sports, Lifestyle, and Local Talent

On Day 1, the festival hosted beach volleyball tournaments, a major auto-sport rally from Cairo to New Alamein, and a spectacular beachfront showcase. Events also included archery, organized by the local sports group “Ramah,” and fitness programs by “Fitness Factory.”

In the women’s beach volleyball competition, Team The Fighters took gold with a commanding 21–9 victory, while Team Al Arab edged out the men’s title at 21–18.

The final day of the festival introduced a new twist—three-player beach volleyball—with over 130 matches played across nine courts. Team The Champions clinched first place, followed by Team Baba Mix. The closing ceremony featured an eye-catching moment when the final game ball was delivered by paramotor glider, courtesy of the “Sky Sports” team, thrilling the crowd and capping the event on a high note.

The high-level presence reinforced the state’s commitment to integrating private sector expertise in national youth and tourism initiatives.

New Alamein: Egypt’s Emerging Capital for Sport Tourism

Following the Alamein Marathon last week under the “30 Days of Challenge” initiative, Ced Sportival is the latest in a series of high-impact events placing New Alamein firmly on the global sports tourism map.

With its scenic beaches, expanding infrastructure, and growing event portfolio, New Alamein is quickly becoming a magnet for athletic excellence, tourism investment, and youth engagement—reflecting Egypt’s strategic push to connect health, sport, and economic growth.
