The United Arab Emirates’ Minister of State for Government Development and the Future has praised the Egypt Government Excellence Award, saying it has created a new language for measuring and advancing government performance.

In remarks aired by eXtra News, the UAE minister expressed pride in the strategic partnership between the UAE and Egypt, stressing that bilateral cooperation has played a vital role in advancing institutional innovation and public sector reform across the region.

“We take pride in our partnership with Egypt,” the minister said, noting that the Egyptian leadership has made excellence in government performance a strategic choice, embedding it into the structure of state institutions rather than treating it as a temporary initiative.

Message of Reform and Competence

Echoing those sentiments, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning, said the Government Excellence Award has become a powerful expression of the state’s determination to modernize.

“The Government Excellence Award has become a clear title for the will to develop and a strong message that the state places efficiency and merit at the top of its priorities,” Al-Mashat said.

She added that the award reflects Egypt’s commitment to building an effective, results-driven public sector capable of delivering high-quality services and supporting sustainable development goals.

Regional recognition of Egypt’s reform agenda

The joint praise from Emirati and Egyptian officials underscores growing regional recognition of Egypt’s public sector reform efforts, particularly in performance evaluation, institutional efficiency, and accountability.

Developed in cooperation with the UAE, the Egypt Government Excellence Award is increasingly viewed as a regional model for modern governance—one that promotes innovation, transparency, and a culture of continuous improvement across government entities.
