UAE Embassy in Cairo Hosts Suhoor in Celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Cairo hosted a Suhoor banquet in celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, a day of giving and fraternity. The event hostef Her Excellency Mariam Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt, and a distinguished gathering of Egyptian ministers, parliamentarians, and media leaders.

Among the prominent attendees were Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development ; Eng. Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector; Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation; Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Counselor Mahmoud Fawzy, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Legal and Political Communication; and Dr. Hala El-Said, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Economic Affairs.

In her opening address, Ambassador Al Kaabi welcomed the attendees and emphasized the significance of the 19th day of Ramadan, which marks Zayed Humanitarian Work Day. She highlighted the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, who left behind a profound legacy of humanitarianism and service to humanity.

Al Kaabi emphasized that the UAE, under its leadership, government, and people, is committed to honoring Sheikh Zayed’s legacy by continuing his charitable endeavors. She noted that the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan followed in his footsteps, and that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, continues the journey of giving. As a result, the UAE has consistently ranked as the world’s largest donor of humanitarian aid relative to its national income.

Al Kaabi stressed that Sheikh Zayed’s work extended beyond providing aid to building human capacity through education, healthcare, and empowerment. She highlighted his efforts in establishing schools, institutes, universities, libraries, and hospitals, as well as infrastructure projects aimed at improving the social conditions of people facing crises.

The ambassador concluded by stating that the memory of Sheikh Zayed will remain eternal in the hearts of Emiratis and in the conscience of humanity.

She also noted that “Zayed Humanitarian Work Day” this year comes as the UAE continues to send food, relief, and medical aid to various parts of the world, crowning its diplomacy of good and consolidating its position as a capital of humanity. She affirmed that Emirati aid will continue in order to eliminate poverty, support children, develop infrastructure, and empower women, girls, and youth.
