The TriFactory organized the 6th edition of Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon, Egypt’s premier road race. The event takes runners through the Great Pyramids of Giza, offering a unique experience among Egypt’s most iconic landmarks.
Egypt’s signature running event featured three classic distances, 5K, 10K, & 21K, meaning runners of all ages and abilities can take part and run through 5000 years of history. The Giza Plateau is the home of the Great Pyramids of Giza, world-renowned landmarks and among the best preserved structures remaining from Pharaonic times.
Since 2019, the marathon has attracted over 80 countries and become a key fixture in Egypt’s sports tourism. The Egyptian Ministries of Youth & Sports, Tourism & Antiquities, and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority continue to support the event, under the auspices of the Egyptian Athletics Federation to ensure international standards. In 2023, the race received AIMS certification from World Athletics, placing it on the global marathon calendar.
Corporate Support and Accessibility
Sponsors such as PUMA designed an exclusive t-shirt for participants. The race offers categories for all ages, with the 5K open to runners as young as 8 and participants up to 80 years old.
Celebrating Egypt’s Heritage
The 2024 medals were designed by Egyptian artist Mohamed Abla, celebrating Egypt’s rich history.
