TikTok Implements New Features Including Group Chats & Stickers

News Agencies

TikTok has announced that it is adding group chats to its platform. This move allows users to create group chats with up to 32 people to chat and share content.

This move is a step towards making TikTok more social and a place for conversation with friends rather than just an entertainment platform for interacting with strangers. In addition, users can now watch, comment, and react on TikTok within the platform.

To ensure teens’ safety, group chats are only available to users above 15, and TikTok has added safety measures to protect teens between 16 and 17.

Everyone, including teens, can only be added to a group chat by a mutual follower. If teens receive an invite to join a group chat, they can’t join unless the group has at least one mutual friend. When teens create a group chat, TikTok will require them to review and approve new joiners.

To create a group chat, users can tap the “Chat” button at the top of the inbox, select “More options,” choose the friends they want to include, and then click “Start group chat.”

To join an existing group chat through an invite, users can tap on the invite and then click “Join group.”

Furthermore, TikTok has announced a fun new feature-custom stickers are being rolled out in DMs. This exciting addition encourages users to create and upload their custom stickers for everyone to use, adding a playful and engaging element to their chats.
