Under the patronage of the Ministries of Social Solidarity and Environment, Ingy El-Yamani, Executive Director of the Fund for Supporting Rural and Environmental Industries and Rural Revival at the Ministry of Social Solidarity, attended the launch of the third edition of the Climate Leaders program. The event was organized in cooperation with the National Council for Women, Telecom Egypt (WE), and the Youth Leaders Foundation (YLF).
This year’s edition reinforces national efforts to support young people and women engaged in climate action, highlighting their pivotal role in addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development.
The ceremony brought together Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of Environment; Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women; Engineer Sarah El-Batoty, NCW member, Chair of the Environment and Climate Change Committee, and UN Climate Ambassador; and MP Ahmed Fathy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Youth Leaders Foundation, alongside a wide audience of climate-focused stakeholders and youth innovators.
The Climate Leaders program is recognized for empowering young people to develop ideas and projects that tackle pressing environmental issues. It supports student initiatives and youth-led innovations aimed at creating measurable climate impact.
The event featured a panel discussion titled “From Idea to Impact: A Dialogue Between Expertise and Ambition,” exploring the journey of climate leadership and youth-led solutions. A short film was also screened to showcase the achievements of the program’s previous two editions, in addition to a presentation outlining the stages and timeline of the upcoming edition.
Organizers emphasized that the program continues to serve as a national platform for nurturing climate leadership and strengthening the role of youth and women at the forefront of environmental action—an essential pillar of Egypt’s broader sustainability agenda.
