Tennis Champ Mayar Sherif Defeats World’s No.12, Advances to Rome Tennis Open R3

Egyptian Athlete Mayar Sherif has advanced to the third round of the Rome Tennis Open by defeating Jasmine Paolini, who is seeded 12th in the world rankings. Sherif won the match in two sets. She will face Victoria Azarenka in the next round, ranked world no. 24.

In a tournament marked by intense competition, Mayar Sherif showcased her skills and determination, making it to the final of the Catalonia Open. Despite a closely contested match with Katerina Siniakova, Sherif was unable to secure the win, with the final scores standing at 4/6 – 6/4 – 3/6. 

However, in the Madrid Tennis Open, Mayar Sherif was eliminated from the tournament last week after being defeated by Elena Rybakina, who is ranked fourth in the world, in the round of 32.
