The Freedoms Committee of the Journalists Syndicate is organizing a solidarity conference entitled “From Gaza to Sudan… Women Facing Aggression,” today, Tuesday, March 26, at 8:30 p.m., in the Heikal Hall on the fourth floor of the Syndicate building.
The conference comes when the women of Gaza represent nearly 70% of the number of martyrs, while thousands of them wait to die of hunger in a siege, silence, and international inability to provide them with the least means of protection and support.
The conference includes testimonies of Palestinian lawyer and activist Fatima Ashour, Palestinian media personality Taghreed Al-Amour, and Palestinian journalist Saiba Ismail.
From Sudan, there are testimonies from Sudanese feminist activist Fahima Hashem and Sudanese lawyer Shaima Taj Al-Sir, and Fatima Khafaji, a representative of the Arab Feminist Network, speaks from Egypt.
At a time when the occupation is carrying out genocide against our people in Gaza, we hear the cries of Sudanese women, from a war in which they have no choice, no sentence, in light of the blackout, prevention, and siege of women in Gaza and Sudan. We seek to be their voice and declare solidarity with them by all means.
The event will witness the presentation of recorded and written testimonies of injured Palestinian women and freed prisoners, and a video will also be shown about war crimes committed against women.
