Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhy met, upon his arrival to Berlin, with officials of Egypt’s mission to the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 held from June 17 to 25.
Sobhy asserted that, under political leadership, the Egyptian state supports all Egyptian athletes and the development of all sports.
The meeting took place at the Egyptian embassy in Berlin in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Germany, Galal Abdel Hamid, and Social Solidarity Minister, Dr. Nivine El-Kabbaj.
Egypt is participating in the Special Olympics with 69 athletes and 37 coaches.
The global event will witness the participation of 7,000 Special Olympics athletes and Unified partners from approximately 190 countries to compete in 26 sports. The athletes will be supported by more than 3,000 coaches and 20,000 volunteers.
