Sports Minister goes through preparations hosting 1st event for L’Étape by Tour de France Egypt
Egypt’s Sports and Youth, Ashraf Sobhy, looks into the current preparations for hosting L’Étape Egypt by Tour de France for the first time in Africa and the Middle East.
The Minister Ashraf stressed that Tour de France is one of the world’s most popular sporting events. In addition, He stated that hosting this event demonstrates Egypt’s confidence in its ability to properly organise the tournament.
The minister made his remarks at a meeting with officials from Stamina Sports and Fitness Company at the Youth and Sports Ministry’s HQ in the New Administrative Capital.
“The Tour de France is the world’s greatest cycling race. Each year it is passionately followed by fans around the world so it has naturally given rise to L’Étape by Tour de France”, said Christian Prudhomme, Tour de France director. The series has now expanded to multiple international locations including China, Thailand, Mexico, Brasil and Australia.
