Sports Minister and Cairo Governor Inspect Construction of New Walking Track in Nasr City

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, conducted a site inspection this morning, marking the commencement of construction for a new 400-meter walking track on Ibrahim Abu El-Naga Street in East Nasr City. This project is a key component of the “Track in the Street” initiative, a collaborative endeavor between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Cairo Governorate. The initiative aims to provide accessible sports infrastructure, ensuring citizens have safe and convenient spaces for daily exercise, thereby promoting a healthier lifestyle.

The project’s objectives are multifaceted, prioritizing the establishment of sports infrastructure that enables citizens to engage in daily and safe exercise. It seeks to bolster public health initiatives and enhance the overall quality of life for residents by creating secure spaces for physical activity within streets and public areas. Ultimately, the initiative aims to promote a lifestyle that integrates regular exercise, fostering a culture of health and wellness within the community.

Minister Sobhy emphasized the project’s alignment with the state’s commitment to supporting public health initiatives and improving citizens’ well-being. He reiterated the ministry’s dedication to supporting initiatives that strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and serve the community. Governor Saber commended the Ministry of Youth and Sports for its efforts in fostering a healthy sporting environment throughout the republic. He further highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among various entities to develop sports projects that encourage citizen participation in physical activity, underscoring the necessity of inter-agency cooperation for successful project implementation.

The construction of the 400-meter secure walking track is being undertaken by ENPPI, showcasing an exemplary model of effective collaboration between national institutions and executive bodies.
