On Thursday, Dr. Maya Morsy, Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, began her visit to Sharqia Governorate with a meeting at the governorate’s headquarters in the presence of local officials, including Eng. Hazem Al-Ashmouni, the Governor of Sharqia.
The discussion focused on the collaboration between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Sharqia Governorate in several key areas, particularly joint developmental projects that the ministry is implementing in partnership with local NGOs.
During the meeting, Governor Al-Ashmouni honored Dr. Morsy by presenting her with a commemorative plaque from the Sharqia Governorate in recognition of her efforts.
As part of her visit, Dr. Morsy is also set to attend a celebration for the “Yadom Al-Farah” initiative, a joint effort by the Haya Karima Foundation and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt. This event aims to support the preparation of brides by distributing essential household appliances to the most deserving young women. Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has successfully supported 3,404 brides.
The celebration will see the distribution of electrical appliances to 250 brides and will take place under the auspices of the National Alliance for Civil Development Action and the Central Bank of Egypt. It aligns with the country’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and promoting social solidarity.
The Haya Karima Foundation continues to prioritize women’s empowerment, launching targeted initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women and providing them with the necessary support for a better future.
