On behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, attended the 10th anniversary celebration of the Baheya Foundation for Early Detection and Treatment of Breast Cancer, under the slogan “10 Years of Baheya.” The event was attended by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, Counselor Amal Ammar, Chairperson of the National Council for Women, Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Coalition for Developmental Civil Society Work, Engineer Tamer Shoukry, Chairman of the Baheya Foundation’s Board of Trustees, as well as members of the Board and several prominent public figures.
The Minister of Social Solidarity expressed her appreciation for being part of the celebration and marking 10 years of Baheya’s vital work in breast cancer early detection and treatment, emphasizing that she proudly considers herself one of Baheya’s “granddaughters.”
Dr. Maya Morsy highlighted the special qualities of the Baheya Foundation, which inspire widespread support for its mission, and noted that two weeks ago, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly approved an allocation of 10 million Egyptian pounds to Baheya Hospital to provide the necessary equipment and supplies, aimed at eliminating waiting lists.
The Minister also expressed her hope that by the end of Ramadan, the waiting lists at Baheya Foundation would be cleared, bringing peace of mind to the women seeking care.
During the celebration, the Baheya Foundation presented its achievements, including the cancer cure rates achieved and its future goals, alongside success stories of the brave women who have overcome breast cancer with the Foundation’s support.
