After 30 years of Modeling, corporate workshops, and three books, Shirley Shalaby has been nominated as the International Director of the Federation of Image Professionals International (FIPI).
The Federation of Image Professionals International, or FIPI, brings together image professionals worldwide and places an emphasis on quality through industry awareness, education, and higher standards. This committed network highlights the value of cooperation and education in developing the area and guaranteeing a long-lasting influence on the future of the industry.
Shalaby aims to increase FIPI’s visibility through her new position as International Director for French and Arab-speaking countries by strengthening the organization and improving its status as the go-to resource for worldwide experts in image.
Founder of the first Modeling and Finishing Academy in the Middle East, Shirley Shalaby has led the way in establishing educational standards in Egypt for the fields of image advising and etiquette. She is the author of Timeless Beauty, Beyond Charm, and The Art of Etiquette. She graduated from Cairo University’s Faculty of Arts in English Literature. She tutored professional men and women as well as models on improving their image and has prior expertise in the fields of professional modeling and image building in Canada, the USA, and the UK.
In 1990, she launched En Vogue in Egypt. Her first well-known offering was the Professional Modeling and Finishing Program, which was in operation from the 1990s to the 2000s and produced some of Egypt’s most renowned actors, TV hosts, and entrepreneurs.
She has worked with hospitals, diplomatic missions, five-star hotels, airlines, local and international organizations, to standardize their image and support the development of a strong corporate representation.
In order to help children and young teens between the ages of 6 and 18 develop their personalities and communication skills, Shirley started the “Children’s Modeling and Savoir Faire” program in Egypt. This program includes modeling, table manners over a hot meal, deportment, voice attractiveness, conversational skills, social dancing, and arts and crafts.
