The Egyptian Ready-made Garments Export Council of Egypt (RMGEC) will take part in COP 27, which will be hosted next November in Sharm El Shiekh. The RMGEC will work at full capacity at the Green Zone during COP 27, stated Marie Louis Beshara, the RMGEC president.
She added that Ready-Made Garments & Textiles Chamber, Cotton Egypt Association, and Cotton & Textile Industries Holding Co. would also take part in the COP 27 proceedings.
The Egyptian companies will gain a competitive edge by participating in the fashion shows that will witness the presence of international brands, as announced by Marie.
In a statement, the RMGEC announced that it has been diligently working on doubling the sector’s exports, aiming to increase annual exports by 10 times.

In June 2022, the sector’s exports rose 21% to $244 million, up from June 2021’s $201 million. Ready-made garment exports climbed by 2% to $163 million in July 2022, compared to July 2021’s $160 million.
