Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi, Tarek Makhlouf, Managing Director of UMS , and Mohamed Al-Saadi, a board member of the company.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the meeting discussed the arrangements for the upcoming opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), scheduled for July 2025. The President was briefed on the proposed plans to ensure the event meets its objectives, with a focus on showcasing Egypt’s historical contributions and enhancing tourism.
The meeting also covered promotional strategies for the event, including collaboration with the private sector for marketing campaigns in hotels and resorts. Additionally, the potential of the Grand Egyptian Museum to offer a comprehensive experience combining ancient Egyptian history and cutting-edge exhibition technology was highlighted.
President El-Sisi emphasized the importance of meticulous preparation for the event, ensuring that it reflects Egypt’s historic significance, while also avoiding any strain on the national budget. He underscored the need to capitalize on the opening to promote Egypt’s broader tourism offerings.
