President El-Sisi, Minister of Awkaf met to discuss plans to send imams to various countries during Ramadan
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Minister of religious endowments Muhammed Mukhtar Gomaa. The meeting discussed the Ministry’s plan to send imams and readers of the Holy Qur’an to various countries during the Holy Month of Ramadan
The Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, stated that during the meeting, the Minister of Awkaf presented the updates of the training programs provided for the new imam which aims at improving their skills in all aspects.
These programs are given by leading specialists in the fields of religious sciences and humanitarian, social, and cultural studies. President El-Sisi directed that these efforts be continued sustainably, to constantly add to the expertise of the imams and enhance their ability to keep abreast of today’s issues in a moderate, enlightened manner following the righteous Islamic religion.
The meeting also discussed the Ministry’s plan to send imams and readers of the Holy Qur’an to various countries during the Holy Month of Ramadan, in light of Egypt’s pioneering role in this field. In this regard, the President directed that the best imams and Quran readers be selected and prepared before traveling abroad.
The President was also briefed on the efforts of the Ministry of Awkaf to prepare for its international conference which will focus on discussing the role of modern electronic means in religious discourse, as part of the State’s efforts toward digital transformation in various fields.
Dr. Gomaa also presented the revenues of the Awkaf Authority which are growing significantly and continuously, in the light of the President’s constant directives to safeguard and invest in the assets of the Authority as this is in the public interest.
