Yesterday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi appointed Egypt’s former minister of Planning, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, as the new presidential economic adviser, ensuring continuity in the country’s economic policies.
Given Dr. Al-Saeed’s pivotal role in recent years in discussions with the IMF and other financial institutions, President El-Sisi has wisely chosen to leverage her profound knowledge of Egypt’s economic landscape.
It is worth noting that Dr. Hala Al-Saeed assumed the position of Minister of Planning, Follow-up, and Administrative Reform on February 16, 2017, then held the portfolio of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on December 22, 2019, in addition to continuing to handle some files related to the administrative and institutional reform process.
The former minister further supervised the formulation, implementation, and updating of Egypt’s Vision 2030. She also held several other positions, including Advisor to the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Anti-Money Laundering Unit at the Central Bank, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab African International Bank.
Notably, Al-Saeed also received the Best Arab Minister Award in the first session of the Arab Government Excellence Award in November 2020.
The Top 50 Women Forum is extremely proud of our member, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, and wishes her immense success in her new assumed position.
