Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Wealth Tarek El Molla asserted that the ministry aims at coping with rapid international developments in the field of sustainability and energy to provide more investment opportunities to companies willing to invest in green hydrogen projects, according to the State Information service website.
Addressing the first meeting of the higher organizational committee for cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the fields of energy and hydrogen, Molla said Egypt and Germany are attaching great importance to establishing partnerships and agreements in the field of energy especially at the current time, noting that energy transition, decarbonization as well as all energy-related issues are figuring high on the agenda of the two countries work.
The meeting was attended by German Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Stefan Wenzel, Minister of International Cooperation Rania El Mashat, Minister of Public Enterprises Mahmoud Esmat, electricity ministry officials, a galaxy of representatives of German and Egyptian companies operating in the field of green energy as well as several oil ministry officials.
Molla also reviewed Egypt’s national strategies in the field of energy as well as the development of the green hydrogen investments, noting that both strategies are in their final phases and will soon be announced after the agreement between the ministries of oil and electricity.
