In celebration of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy on June 24th, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration has paid tribute to the outstanding contributions of Egyptian female diplomats, underscoring their vital role in representing the nation and safeguarding its interests on both regional and global stages.

In an official statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry extended its warm congratulations to all Egyptian women serving in the diplomatic corps, recognizing their dedication, professionalism, and impact in shaping Egypt’s foreign policy and global presence.

The Ministry reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to empowering women across all sectors of diplomacy and consular affairs, pledging continued support for their full and effective participation. This initiative aligns with Egypt’s broader agenda of advancing gender equality and strengthening institutional inclusivity in the diplomatic sphere.

Marking this international observance, Egypt joins nations around the world in spotlighting the critical role women play in diplomacy — a field where their presence continues to grow, yet remains a global work in progress.

The United Nations established June 24 as the International Day of Women in Diplomacy to acknowledge the efforts of women diplomats worldwide and to promote gender equity in foreign service institutions.

Egypt, with its long-standing diplomatic tradition, has witnessed a steady rise in the number of women assuming senior diplomatic and consular roles — a testament to evolving societal norms and policy frameworks encouraging female leadership in foreign affairs.
