The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Cairo has unveiled details of its cultural program for the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, where Oman will be the Guest of Honor. The book fair will take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo from January 23 to February 5.
Oman’s program includes more than 20 cultural and artistic events, featuring prominent writers and creators from both Egypt and Oman. Among the participants are former Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr. Saber Arab and Omani author Zahran Al Qasimi, who won the 2023 Booker Prize for Arabic Fiction. The seminars will cover various topics such as Egyptian-Omani relations, Omani heritage, the publishing industry in Oman, and Omani poetry.
Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hennu, is closely following the preparations for the opening of the fair. He highlighted the importance of the Cairo International Book Fair as a key cultural platform for showcasing the latest publications and strengthening Egypt’s and the Arab world’s cultural presence on the international stage.
